Editorial Process

Home Birth Partners exists to help families make confident, evidence-based decisions about home birth. The directory connects you to credentialed midwives. The articles answer the questions families actually ask before, during, and after that decision. This page explains how we produce the content side of the site.

Who writes our content

Articles on Home Birth Partners are produced by the Home Birth Partners editorial team, a small group that researches, writes, and verifies content. We are not individual clinicians and we do not represent ourselves as practicing midwives or physicians. Where you see a byline of "Home Birth Partners Editors," that's the team.

Our founding partner midwife, Amanda Chandler, CPM, joined the platform in 2026. As more midwives sign on, we will publish reviewed-by attributions on relevant articles, signed by individual practitioners with their credentials.

How we source claims

Every clinical, legal, or financial claim on the site is grounded in a primary or near-primary source. We prioritize, in order:

We avoid citing other content marketing sites as sources. If we can't find a primary source for a claim, we either omit the claim or note it as an estimate with the basis explained.

What we verify before publishing

What we don't claim

We are not a clinical authority. We do not give medical advice, diagnose conditions, or recommend one midwife over another. Articles are educational and meant to help you ask better questions of the qualified clinician you actually hire.

We don't fabricate author or reviewer credentials. If an article doesn't have a named medical reviewer, the byline reflects that. We will only attribute review to a real, named midwife who has actually reviewed that piece.

Corrections

If you find a factual error, please email [email protected]. We correct errors in place, log the change, and credit the source where appropriate.

Affiliate and commercial disclosures

We do not sell ads. We do not run sponsored content. We do not accept payment from midwives in exchange for editorial coverage. See How we make money for the full picture of how the site is funded.

Have a question about how a specific article was researched? Email [email protected] and we'll send you the source list.
